ADDIE REBECCA EGGLETON

Addie Rebecca Eggleton was laid to rest on July 9, 2011.  Formerly of Crisp County, GA, she was buried at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cordele, GA.  Most recently, she had resided in Burnsville, NC.  Addie went home to be with Jesus Christ her Savior and to have a reunion with family that had gone on before her.  She was the last of 12 children born to B.J. and Annie Tucker.  Born on Dec. 15, 1922, she passed into Glory on July 7, 2011 at her home.  Just as she wished, her family was at her bedside.

Addie is the mother of Patricia Westbrook and David Eggleton.  In addition to her son-in-law, Dick Westbook and daughter-in-law, Elaine Eggleton, she has four grandchildren: Rena, Michelle, Shannon and Jeff; nine great-grandchildren: Cody, Brennan, Tyler, Garrett, Addison, Luke, Robert, Anna and Madalyn.  She was always happiest when family was around.

She lived a simple and humble life, never complaining of not having enough but made the best of what she had.  She was a very generous person always thinking of others.  All her life she loved to sew.  She would make a flower bloom way beyond its time.  She believed in waste not, want not and always able to set the table with mouth watering food.

Addie lived a Christian life and tried to help anyone she saw in need.  She was kind and caring, and speaking of others in high regard.  Very witty and fun to be with she will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Officiant, Rev. Dick Westbrook.  Arrangements by Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.

The family wishes to thank Yancey County CAP and Home Health Services and to each person who made it possible for mama to stay at home.  A special thanks to Hospice.  They made life more comfortable for mama and life a little less stressful for the family.  We are blessed to have these services in Yancey County.
